Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is settled in an area of 90.44 sq km in the eastern range of the Western Ghats. Eravikulam National Park, Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary are located on the periphery of Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. Nanadala Malai, Kumarikkal Mala Peak, Vellaikal Malai, Kottakombu Malai and Viriyoottu Malai are the peaks that stand erected in the sanctuary along with Chinnar and Pambar Rivers flowing through the region. The wildlife sanctuary is also home to 11 tribal settlements. The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary predominantly experiences a hot and dry climate Ecotourism activities at Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary are organised by the forest department and Eco-development Committees of the local tribal communities. Trekking, camping, and staying at treehouses are included in the eco-tourism activities.
