Hawa Beach Adjacent to the Lighthouse Beach, Hawa Beach is also known as Eve’s Beach. Due to strong currents swimming is not allowed here, however sunbathing the most enjoyed pastime is.
Samudra BeachLocated on the northern part of Kovalam Beach, Samudra Beach is preferred mostly by the honeymoon couples for tranquility and privacy. Halcyon Castle Also known as Kovalam Palace, presently it is a heritage hotel where you can experience a luxury stay and get a taste of royalty. Built in 1932, Halcyon Castle was the retreat of the royal family of Travancore, present Kerala. Certain areas of the property are open for the visitors (apart from the guests) with free entry.
Valiyathura Pier Since 1950, the Pier of Valiyathura has been of great prominence for cargo transportation and catamaran installation. The 214 metre long pier on the old port of Valiyathura presently serves as a breathtaking spot to encounter the sunset, and is undoubtedly a perfect place for mesmerising photography.
Padmanabhaswamy Temple The elegant Padmanabhaswamy Temple has been built in reverence to Lord Vishnu and its age is more than a century. The architecture of the temple has an accent of Dravidian and Keralite culture and several Hindu deities are finely carved on the temple structures. The temple has strict dress codes both for men and women.
Vizhinjam Rock – Cut Cave Temple The place is of great interest for history and architecture enthusiasts as the temple's history dates back to the 8th Century AD. The site has been under ASI’s maintenance since 1965. A statue of Dakshinamurthy is placed inside the temple and the cave temple has carvings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Veli Tourist Village A very popular picnic spot at Kovalam, Veli Tourist Village has a unique boating spot at the confluence of Arabian Sea and the Veli Lake. The place is just perfect for children to have lots of fun. Strolling through the gardens inside the property also provides a lot of bliss.
Kovalam Art Gallery The Art Gallery is a must visit in Kovalam. This place houses a priceless collection of artworks by Raja Ravi Varma, Nicolas Roerich and Svetlova. The paintings, sculptures and artifacts in the Art Gallery represent the ancient traditions of India.
